A graduate of the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics and College of Law, Mr. Kruger has been the Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of a major health system, including a hospital and large multi-specialty physician corporation, for over twenty years. During his long tenure representing hospitals and other health care entities, Mr. Kruger has reviewed, drafted and negotiated thousands of complex business transactions, such as employment contracts, professional service agreements, recruitment agreements, co-management agreements, medical director agreements, on-call and related service agreements and various other contracts and leases. His career has spanned a large and diverse area of unique issues including general corporate health care law, governance, mergers and acquisitions, provider employment, population health, real estate, taxation, risk and insurance, litigation, medical staff, privacy, transparency, regulatory and governmental change and corporate compliance.
In the process, he has also developed a unique understanding of how hospitals and other organizations treat its independent medical staff, employed physicians and other providers. Mr. Kruger created KHCL to advocate for employed and independent health providers. Mr. Kruger intimately understands what they are up against and how important their role is in our health system.
With the Hospital's team of lawyers in place, invariably the playing field is not fair or equitable for individual practitioners. Mr. Kruger can help and is dedicated to leveling the playing field for providers.
